India will be hosting the 2023 ODI World Cup for the first time since 2011. In 2011 India tasted ODI World Cup glory, and 12 years later will be hoping for a repeat of the same. India will be hosting the tournament solo this time around. In 2011, India co-hosted the ODI World Cup along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The Cricket Governing Body released the promo video for the event which was voiced by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan puts his crisp voice in the incredible 2-minute long video, centred around the motto and tagline of the tournament — ‘All it takes is one day’. Shah Rukh has been associated with cricket in India in the Indian Premier League since 2008. Shah Rukh is the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KKR has been heavily investing in cricket franchises all over the world such as the Trinbago Knight Riders and the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
In the video, Shah Rukh talked about the highs and lows in sports and the craze of cricket in India. India have become one of the richest boards in the world and has seen a great journey in cricket. The craze of cricket is very huge in India and the sport has taken a place in the hearts of the people which has been second to no other sport in the country. The Indian Cricket Fans are one of these most passionate and vibrant crowds and they are situated all across the world.
“The difference between making history and being history: one day. Jerseys will be worn, and chests will swell with pride, on that one day. Passion will triumph logic, and memories will be etched, on that one day. Fears will be conquered, and odds will be braved, on that one day. From the highs of joy, to the lows of anguish, it will all be embraced, on that one day,” Shah Rukh narrated in the video.
The video has a star cast which includes the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, 2019 World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan, Shubman Gill, Jonty Rhodes, Dinesh Karthik and Sri Lanka spin sensation Muttiah Muralitharan.
