In a major blow to CSK’s chances in IPL 2024, Devon Conway is ruled out from cricket for 8 weeks after he got hit on his left thumb during the 3rd T20I against Australia. Conway has undergone surgery and will be unavailable for selection till May which means that he is set to miss more than half of IPL 2024.
Devon Conway is an integral part of CSK’s setup his unavailability in this year’s IPL is a major setback for CSK which is already dealing with injuries to some of its key players. Conway amassed 672 runs in 16 matches he played in the last season and was also the man of the match in the thrilling final of the last edition which shows his impact on the success of CSK last year.
However, CSK is known to work as a collective unit and the loss of a key player may not derail their campaign completely.

The Sri Lankan ODI captain has a base price of 50 Lakhs and is one of the cleanest strikers of the cricket ball going around. At the same time, hailing from Sri Lanka, he is known to play spin well, and given that CSK will play 7 matches at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium, he could be a really good addition to the CSK batting firepower. Additionally, he could also keep the wickets if needed.
