Team India suffered yet another heartbreak in a major multi-national event – World Test Championship Final 2023. They will, however, be striving for a great comeback in another mega event, the ODI World Cup 2023, which will be held in India between October and November. The Indian team selection has come under criticism several times and it remains to be seen whether the selectors will make any significant changes for the 50-over tournament.

Several players have played some breathtaking innings in Indian Premier League 2023 and have proved to be one of the best contenders to include in the squad. However, given the magnitude of the tournament, the selectors are unlikely to make any surprising decisions. But the upcoming West Indies series will be crucial for a few players to prove their mettle before the World Cup. On that note,

Let’s Take a Look at Three Youngsters who Deserve inclusion in the ODI WC 2023 Squad:

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal

The 21-year-old Jaiswal literally stunned everyone with his batting prowess for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, scoring over 600 runs and winning the Emerging Player Award. An outstanding season for the youngster, comprising five half-centuries and one century, prompted former cricketers and experts to recommend that he be named to the Indian team.

However, his efforts were rewarded as he was also one of India’s stand-by players in the World Test Championship Final 2023. Furthermore, when the Indian Cricket Board announced India’s Test squad for the West Indies series on Friday (June 23), Jaiswal’s name was also included. Given his current form and fearless batting approach, Jaiswal is one of the youngsters who deserves a place in the 2023 ODI World Cup squad.
