The first day of the second Test between Pakistan and New Zealand turned out to be an action-packed affair as both teams had a good outing. After New Zealand captain Tim Southee won the toss and elected to bat first, their openers gave them a perfect start adding 134 runs for the first wicket. New Zealand completed dominated the first two sessions of the day as they finished on 226/1 at tea.

However, Pakistan clawed their way back into the Test match as off-spinner Agha Salman wreaked havoc with the ball in the third session. He picked up wickets of Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls and Daryl Mitchell to push the blackcaps back on the backfoot after their incredible start to the match. Out of his three wickets, the dismissal of Daryl Mitchell will remain special for Salman as he got him clean bowled in a classic off-spinner’s dismissal.

The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 69th over of the innings. Salman bowled a full delivery just outside off-stump which Mitchell tried to work it on the leg-side, however, he ended up missing the ball completely which turned sharply and hit his off-stump. The delight on Salman’s face was evident following the dismissal as he looked in a mood to dance in celebration.
