‘We stand with Babar’- Fans come in support of Babar Azam after alleged leaked pictures surface online

Many fans have come in support of the Pakistan skipper following the text scandal.

Babar Azam has made everyone take notice with his wonderful exhibition of batting in all forms of cricket and his eye-catching performances with his exquisite stroke-making and a wide range of shots. His name has made it to the news again but this time he has landed himself in a pickle for all the wrong reasons.

On Sunday, private pictures of the Pakistan captain along with a voice recording made their way to social media, which has gone viral on social media. Some of the fans have said that somebody has started this campaign to tarnish the image of Babar. Babar has starred in 47 Test appearances for Pakistan and has scored 3,696 runs in the white flannels for the Men in Green so far. He has also scored 4813 runs in ODIs.

Pakistan lost the ODI series at home to New Zealand 2-1

On a batting front, Babar has been in good form against the New Zealand team in the two-match Test series that was played on home soil. He scored 226 runs in the two Test matches that were played. Both the games ended in draws. He scored the runs at an average of 56.50 and a strike rate of 59. In the series, he ended up with one century. His highest score was 161.

The Pakistan Team have not had a good home season on the back of a 3-0 Test loss against England. They drew both Tests against the Kiwis Then they lost the ODI series to the Kiwis 2-1. There have been reports that Babar Azam will be replaced as Test skipper and One-Day captain of Pakistan. The front-runner to replace him is Shan Masood as he is presently the vice-captain of the Pakistan Team in ODIs.

In 2022, Pakistan got to their second 20-20 World final under the leadership of Babar. In the 20-20 World Cup in Australia, Pakistan lost their first two matches against India and Zimbabwe by 4 wickets and by 1 run to Zimbabwe before winning against South Africa and Bangladesh. Pakistan beat the Kiwis in the semi-final but lost out to England in the final.
