Asia Cup 2023 began with Pakistan’s win over Nepal by 238 runs on Wednesday. Pakistan, batting first, scored a massive 342 as they later bowled out Nepal for a mere 104. The focus now shifts to the game on Saturday.

India will be playing their first game of the tournament as they take on Pakistan. The game is widely anticipated not only by Indian and Pakistani fans but also by cricket fans worldwide. This will be the first one-day game both teams play against each other for over four years.

Ahead of the big game on Saturday, there is bad news for the fans. The weather in Sri Lanka could play spoilsport to dampen the spirits of fans across the world. This news now has sent the fans into a frenzy before the huge India-Pakistan game.

Rain threat looms large for the game on Saturday

The India versus Pakistan game will be hosted by Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The weather for Saturday though looks a little bleak. As per the weather forecast, there could be constant showers during the course of the game.

It is expected to be a cloudy day during the morning hours, with a prompt start to the day likely. The showers though are predicted for two hours from 5 PM local time to 7 PM local time.

There is respite expected for an hour before the rains return with the likelihood of it lasting the entire night. The humidity expected for the game is at a whopping 100 per cent. There are also strong winds expected during the course of the day.

Rain also played a part during the 2nd game of Asia Cup 2023 between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The defending champions bowled well as they rolled over Bangladesh for just 164 on the board in the 43rd over.

Najmul Shanto was the top scorer with 89 runs off 122 balls with 7 fours. Apart from Shanto, only three more batters were able to get to double digits. Opener Mohammad Naim scored 16, while Hridoy scored 20 and former skipper Rahim scored 13.

Fast bowler, Matheesha Pathirana playing his 5th ODI for Sri Lanka was the star performer. The right-arm pacer picked career-best figures of 4/32 from his 7.4 overs. Theekshana picked 2 wickets. Shanaka, De Silva, and Wellalage picked a wicket each.
