Pakistan had exited the Asia Cup post after its loss to Sri Lanka in heartbreaking fashion. In the early Super-four game against India, the Pakistan team had lost by a massive 228 runs. Despite starting the tournament strong, Pakistan’s free-fall left its cricket fans angry and red-faced. Post their exit from the tournament, there were reports of Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi’s argument. The two had reportedly squared off in the dressing room before Mohammad Rizwan calmed down the situation. The argument started after Babar Azam let loose on a few players, only to be rebutted by his pacer.

The Pakistani team also had to contend with the loss of two of their star players. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf got injured during the match against India. Naseem Shah had injured his shoulder while bowling the final over. The 20-year-old is now racing against time to be fit for the World Cup. There are reports of the youngster missing months of cricketing action. Haris Rauf meanwhile is still being looked at. The 29-year-old’s status is still up in the air. Unlike Naseem Shah, there is a good chance that Haris Rauf could be part of the 2023 ODI World Cup. The big game for Pakistan is on 14th October when they face India at Ahmedabad in the biggest match of the ODI World Cup 2023.
