India vs Australia 2023

‘Kohli nai akhir bata hee Diya nitin menon ko’ – Fans react to Virat Kohli saying Nitin Menon would have given him out instead of Travis Head at Ahemedabad

Virat Kohli notched his 28th Test century in the fourth Test match against Australia.

The fourth Test match between India and Australia has been meandering and it looks like the match is going to end in a tame draw. The match made headlines on Day 5 for an incident involving Travis Head and Virat Kohli.

Before lunch when Umpire Nitin Menon did not give Travis Head out that, Kohli said on the stump mike that if it was him in place of Head then he would have been out for sure. Menon has been under fire for some decisions, recently, specially those involving Virat Kohli.  Menon has faced a lot of hate on social media for the same reason.

The former India captain had a great Test match at Ahmedabad as he broke the jinx and scored his 28th Test century. He had last scored a Test hundred in November 2019. Kohli made a sublime 186 off 364 balls with 15 fours. The Delhi-batter had muted celebrations when he got to the hundred. He received support from KS Bharat, who made 44 off 88 balls with two fours and three sixes.

Axar Patel made a valuable 79 off 1113 balls and partnered with Virat Kohli to take India to 571 in the first innings

When India were at 393-5 and in a precarious position, Axar Patel made 79 off 113 balls with five fours and four sixes. The left-handed-batter provided much needed impetus to the innings with his big hitting. In the first innings, Australia made 480 on the back of Usman Khawaja’s 180 off 422 balls with 21 fours.

Cameron Green got into the act as well and made 114 off 170 balls with 18 fours to bring up his maiden Test century. Australia were also helped by Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy down the order. Lyon scored 34 off 96 balls with six fours, while Murphy scored 41 off 61 balls with five fours.

India have taken a 2-1 series lead coming into the Ahmedabad Test. They had recorded a dominating win by an innings and 132 runs at Nagpur and then a 6-wicket win at Delhi.
