Virat Kohli has been having a torrid time of late. He has been out of form for quite a while now. This has lead to Virat Kohli being severely trolled. Given the current situation, one could only hope for him to overcome his poor form. As the undisputed ‘King’ of cricket finds himself in the darkest phase of his cricketing career, support has poured in for the ‘modern great’ from all across the world.

Kohli has now got support from the former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar who called the batter to be the greatest player in the last 10 years.

“I am hearing a lot of criticism about Virat Kohli. I told them (who is criticizing Virat Kohli) – Virat Kohli is the greatest player, in the last 10 years, if there has been any greatest player, it is Virat Kohli,” said Akhtar on his Youtube channel.

Considered the best batter across formats in the modern era, Kohli has looked like a shadow of himself for the past three years as he failed to plunder runs with impeccable consistency as he did before. The batter has not been able to score a single half-century on the current tour to England. With just one more game to go in the tour, Kohli would be looking to make amends for his horrendous performance so far in the series. If the batter fails to score a half-century in the third ODI, it would be the first ever tour of his career where Kohli failed to touch the 50-run-mark even once.

The fans are eagerly waiting for their king to roar once again after he raises his bat for his long-awaited 71st international century. The star batter last scored a hundred against Bangladesh in a Test match in November 2019. With the 20-20 world cup just 90 days away, the Indian team is desperate to see Kohli back amongst the runs. It should be noted that the batter has won two consecutive ‘Player of the Tournament’ awards in the 2014 and 2016 editions of the tournament.
