Australia got off to a great start in the ongoing ODI series against the West Indies, taking a crushing 8-wicket victory in the first match on Friday, February 2 at the legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground. As the toss between Australia and the West Indies was won by Australia they elected to bowl first.

In the Brisbane Heat‘s title-winning season of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23, Xavier Bartlett finished as the highest wicket-taker. The speedster shined for Australia, winning Player of the Match on debut with 9-1-17-4. Bartlett created havoc in the West Indies’ top order, taking the wickets of Alick Athanaze, Justin Greaves, and Shai Hope in short succession. Later on, he returned to remove Gudakesh Motie.
