Brisbane Heat have defeated Sydney Sixers by 54 runs in the final of the Big Bash League (BBL). The final was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Brisbane Heat clinched their 2nd title of The Big Bash League (BBL) after a wait of 11 years. They were the table toppers in the group stages as they won seven games out of ten. Brisbane Heat almost dominated the Sydney Sixers from ball one.

Sydney Sixers won the toss and invited Brisbane Heat to bat. Josh Brown was the highest run scorer in the final. He scored 53 runs from just 38 balls with a strike rate of 139.47

As wickets fall on regular intervals Matt Renshaw scored 40 runs from 22 balls. Brisbane Heat set a fighting target of 166 runs for the Sydney Sixers. But the in-form pacer for Brisbane Heat Spencer Johnson took a four-wicket haul and Sydney Sixers were bowled out for just 112 runs.

In this BBL edition, Brisbane Heat has been the best bowling side. They showed no signs of slowing and they gave a big heartbreak by getting the wicket of Daniel Hughes in the first over. Later Jack Edwards and Josh Phiillipe were dismissed by Spencer in his first spell and later he picked two more middle-order batsmen. with this heroism, he also won the Player of the Match award. Sydney Sixers were 70 runs for 4 wickets in the 12th over. In the 18th over Xavier Bartlett took two wickets and finished the game for Brisbane Heat.

Gujarat Titans bought Spencer Johnson for 10 crores

Spencer is the highest wicket-taker for the BBL 2023-24 season he took 20 wickets for his team and has risen in T20 cricket even though his name is not in Australia’s T20 squad against West Indies.

Gujarat Titans have bagged in Spencer for the IPL 2024 season. Spencer started the bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans. But in the end, Gujarat Titans bought the pacer for INR 10 crores.
