Prithvi Shaw set the stage alight on the County Circuit in England. He was in great form but a Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) injury meant that his stint in the Royal London One Day Cup was cut short. Shaw is currently recovering from the injury. It is learnt that he would be away from cricket for at least two months. Shaw had an Indian Premier League (IPL) season to forget in 2023 where he scored 106 runs in just the eight matches that he played.
Meanwhile, Shaw recently put up a cryptic post on his Instagram story. The 23-year-old said that people have a two-faced nature and that people always act good when you step up in life but it completely changes during the bad phase. “People give hands when you step up in life, and always leaves it when you go down from steps,” Shaw wrote. During his County Stint at Northamptonshire, Shaw smashed 429 runs in just four innings. His highest score was a record-shattering 244 off 153 balls that came against Somerset.

Northamptonshire won the game by 87 runs against Somerset. John Saddler said it was a big loss for the club that Shaw had to leave England due to unfortunate circumstances. “In his short stint Prithvi has made a huge impact on us as a club. It’s a huge shame he won’t be with us for the remainder of this competition,” Saddler said to NDTV. Shaw last was seen at the T20I series against New Zealand at home but he could not get a game, Even though his form in the IPL has been disappointing, he has been a beast in domestic cricket.
The Mumbaikar had a wonderful Ranji Trophy where he amassed 595 runs in six games. When Shaw burst onto the scene, there were a lot of comparisons going around. The 23-year-old was hailed as a combination of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Brian Lara. Shaw has copped the brunt for his falling fitness standards recently.
