World Wrestling Entertainment fans were in for a wild night. The Friday Night Smackdown was held at The Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The entire show was an exciting affair as John Cena was already advertised to be part of it.

The WWE universe couldn’t believe what was in store for them. The Rock made his return to the company. The 51-year-old, who last wrestled in 2013, still has a lot of fans who clamour for his return to the squared circle. Every appearance from ‘The Brahma Bull’ is lapped up by the fans just like it was seen at Colorado.

The Rock and Pat McAfee leave Austin Theory speechless –

Friday Night Smackdown kicked off with Pat McAfee opening the show much to the applause of the fans. The segment was interrupted by Austin Theory who had insulted Pat McAfee reminding him of their WrestleMania 38 encounter.

Pat McAfee was quick to respond and called Smackdown the “People’s Show”. This was followed by the familiar sounds of The Rock’s music hitting as the capacity crowd went wild. None of the fans expected the former champion and current Hollywood actor to show up.

The Rock then had back and forth with Austin Theory before hitting him with a spinebuster move followed by the People’s elbow. What made it more special was even Pat McAfee did the Rock’s world-famous finishing move.

The latest appearance by The Rock has left fans wondering if he is going to wrestle one more time. The Rock had come back in 2011 to wrestle a handful of matches. The first one was in Survivor Series 2011 where tagged with John Cena against the Miz and R-Truth.

This was followed by the WrestleMania 2012 main event against John Cena where The Rock won. Early 2013, saw the Rock win the WWE title from CM Punk ending his 434-day reign. This was followed by another match against CM Punk before losing the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 29.

Earlier this year, there were rumours of The Rock taking on Roman Reigns but that did not happen. The Rock did raise hopes of the match taking place at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia when he appeared on the Pat McAfee show recently.
