Virat Kohli posts a heartfelt note for Rishabh Pant after latter’s horrific accident

India’s wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant met with a horrifying accident on Friday. The southpaw was traveling from Delhi to his hometown Roorkee in Uttarakhand to celebrate the New Year with his family.

He was alone in his vehicle, a Mercedes GLE, when the car hit the divider railings on the Delhi-Haridwar highway at around 5.30 am, as per police. Pant faced ‘two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

Rishabh Pant is currently admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun. In an official statement released by the hospital, it was reported that his condition is stable and the detailed medical bulletin will be released later.

“Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of Orthopedics & plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be released once he’s examined. Thereafter, we’ll take the next steps,” said Dr. Ashish Yagnik, Max Hospital, Dehradun.

Since the news has come out, fans and various cricketers took to social media to wish Pant a speedy recovery. Former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli also took to Twitter and posted a heartfelt message for Pant.

Rishabh Pant was omitted from the T20I and ODI squad announced, recently, for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Rishabh Pant was at the receiving end of a lot of criticism for his performances in T20I cricket.

However, he continued to impress in Test Cricket. Pant fared well with the bat in the recent Test series against Bangladesh. In 2 Tests, he managed to score 148 runs at an average of 49.33 and a strike rate of 90.80, with the highest score of 93.

If reports are to be believed then Pant is unlikely to play cricket for the next one year.
