It would be an understatement to say that Rajasthan Royals batter, Riyan Parag has been underperforming in Indian Premier League 2023. In the ongoing IPL, the right-hand batter has made just 54 runs in 5 matches at a poor average of 13.50. His strike rate of 112.50 is also quite poor for the Rajasthan team in this year’s tournament.

The 21-year-old is facing a lot of heat from fans as he continues to underperform and still get game time for the IPL franchise. Much of the criticism towards his way is made due to Parag’s attitude on and off the field. Many cricket fans consider him to be flamboyant without any talent to back that flamboyance.

The young cricketer continues to make absurd tweets while at the same time failing in the actual match. Before the start of the IPL 2023, Parag tweeted, “My inner conscience says I’m hitting 4 sixes in an over at some point in this IPL..”.

His claim has so far fallen flat as the batter has failed to perform at even a decent pace, forget the outlandish level that he claims to do. Fans continue to suggest the player focus on the game and forget about social media popularity but Parag has different opinions altogether.

In a recently made Twitter post, the batter posted 4 videos from the practice session wherein he could be seen hitting shots all around the ground. He has titled the post, “When the going gets tough the tough get going. Blinkers on!!”

His post however has met with criticism from fans who yet again have reminded the young batter to focus more on cricket rather than social media.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Riyan Parag’s latest Tweet:

As for Rajasthan Royals, they seem to be doing quite well in IPL 2023. In the last match against CSK, the Sanju Samson-led side defeated the MS Dhoni-led side by 32 runs. As a result of this win, they have moved onto the top of the table with 10 points in 8 matches. They now face Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians in their next IPL 2023 match on Sunday, April 30th.
