After winning their first two matches in the Super 12s against Pakistan and the Netherlands, India suffered a 5-wicket defeat at the hands of South Africa on Sunday. However, the Men in Blue would still back themselves to book a place in the semi-finals as their next two matches are against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Having said that, the forecast for India’s next clash against Bangladesh on Wednesday doesn’t paint a great picture. A lot of matches in the tournament resulted in washouts due to heavy rain. And a similar result is on the cards on Wednesday ahead of the match between India and Bangladesh.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the forecast predicts 60 percent chance of rain tomorrow in Adelaide.

“Cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers, most likely in the evening. Winds southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h,” the website stated.

This is, certainly, not a good news from India’s point of view. The match between India and Bangladesh will begin at 6:30 PM Local time and the heavens could open up during the game. Both India and Bangladesh, currently, have 4 points each to their name in 3 matches and the fans would be hoping that rain doesn’t play spoilsport when the two nations lock horns with each other.

Meanwhile, India are expected to make a couple of changes against Bangladesh. Dinesh Karthik’s injury could make way for Rishabh Pant’s inclusion in the playing XI. The southpaw is likely to play his first game in the tournament.

Deepak Hooda played the last match against South Africa but failed to deliver with the bat. To strengthen their bowling unit, India are likely to bring Axar Patel back into the team. He will be provide the wicket-taking option in the middle overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal is yet to play a match in the tournament. Ashwin had a forgettable outing in the last match against South Africa and Rohit Sharma would be tempted to bring the leg-spinner back into the playing XI. It will be interesting to see how India’s playing XI will look like for the match against Bangladesh.
