‘I thought he opened the club’ – Yuvraj Singh bears ire of fans for his tweet on Cristiano Ronaldo

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh created a storm on Twitter when he put out a congratulatory message to his favourite footballer Cristiano Ronaldo had a glaring error. Ronaldo got his 700 goals on October 9, Sunday, when he got to the coveted landmark in the game against Everton.

Yuvraj Singh faced the ire of the fans on social media because of the choice of words that he had used in his congratulatory message to the ace footballer which went like this- “King is back! Form is temporary class is forever! Welcome to 700 club No7 GOAT, legend,” tweeted Yuvraj. The users on twitter were quick to make note of the mistake and Yuvraj Singh had to bear the brunt of the fans who heavily trolled  him on the microblogging site. They said that the message was not used in a correct way.

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to achieve the magical milestone of 700 goals when he got to the magic number in the game for Manchester United. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was again kept on the bench by Erik ten Hag, but he got a surprise look in due to injury to Anthony Martial. By that stage it was already 1-1 as Antony cancelled out Alex Iwobi’s opener for Everton.

Ronaldo delivered the goods just before half-time to give United three well deserved points in a game where errors were committed by both sides. This victory takes Ten Hag’s men up to fifth and they have only a difference of nine points between arsenal with a game to go The Red Devils were seeking a response to being thrashed 6-3 by Manchester City last weekend but got off to the worst possible start. That goal took Ronaldo’s tally in two spells with United to 144.

Madrid’s record goal scorer has hit 450 strikes for the Spanish giants, while he scored 101 goals for Juventus and five for Sporting Lisbon. Ronaldo should have had a second goal before the hour mark, but it wasn’t to be as he missed it
