Manchester City and Portugal ace Bernardo Silva has come out and made a huge statement on Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal will head into 2024 looking to win the European Title after their triumph in 2016.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the skipper when they won the tournament beating France in the final. The Al Nassar talisman will turn 39 years old in February but it doesn’t seem as if he is set to slow down.

Two decades ago, Cristiano Ronaldo was a youngster when Portugal hosted the EURO 2004. Then playing at Manchester United, Ronaldo was left in tears after losing the final to Greece.

Bernardo Silva’s statement on Cristiano Ronaldo –

Portugal playmaker Bernardo Silva has praised his national iconic player Cristiano Ronaldo. At 38-years-old CR7 as he is known is still going strong in the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassar. Despite a turbulent 2022, Ronaldo has scored over 50 goals this year.

Speaking to a documentary on Netflix, this is what Silva said “Cristiano is a natural born goal scorer and can at any moment, influence the course of the game. He is a player of utmost importance for our national team”

Coach Roberto Martinez also was effusive in praise for the iconic Portugal number 7. “Cristiano, first and foremost, is happy. What shocked me was how fresh he is with his approach in football: someone of 38 [years old] comes to training and wants to win every exercise, win every race and is the last one leaving.”

Ever since he began his career at Sporting Lisbon, the talent possessed by Ronaldo wasn’t an issue. Sir Alex Ferguson signed the exciting winger and helped mould his game. During his first stint at Manchester United, Ronaldo won Three Premier League and One Champions League.

Real Madrid sprang into action as they signed CR7 for a world-record price. During his time with the Los Blancos, Ronaldo became the leading scorer for Real Madrid. Despite being 33- years old Juventus paid a huge price to sign the Portugal superstar. After three seasons with the Old Lady, Ronaldo made an emotional return to Manchester United.

After an amazing first season which saw Ronaldo score over 25 goals, the second was a disaster. Erik Ten Hag had a huge falling out with Cristiano Ronaldo and soon an interview with Piers Morgan ended his England stint.
