‘Akash Chopra sabse bada pannauti hai’ – Fans react after Akash Chopra’s prediction for MI vs PBKS clash goes for a toss

The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to amaze the cricket loving public in India. The tournament has been giving last over and last ball finishes which has kept the fans hooked. There is the IPL on one hand and Akash Chopra’s predictions on the other. Chopra’s predictions have been a roller-coaster ride as they have been right and wrong. But the fans do get after him if his prediction is not right, and he trends on social media.

Ahead of the MI- PBKS game, Chopra predicted that MI will be victors in the clash. But the opposite happened and PBKS won a thriller by 13 runs. PBKS were not in good sprits when the score was 83-4 at the halfway mark. But fortunes changed for them in the last 10 overs. This was courtesy of Sam Curran and Harpreet Singh Bhatia. The duo turned the match on its head as Bhatia made 41 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes.

Curran brought his A game and scored a cracking 55 off 29 balls with five fours and four sixes. The two batters went hammer and tonk at Arjun Tendulkar. The left armer gave away 31 runs in the 16th over. This tilted the scales in favour of PBKS. Jitesh Sharma came in down the order and hit a quickfire 25 runs off 7 balls with four sixes to end the innings on a solid note. The Saada Squad finished their 20 overs on 214-8.

In the second innings, the hemorrhage of runs did not stop as Rohit Sharma made 44 off 27 balls with four fours and three sixes. Cameron Green smashed the PBKS bowlers en rote to his 67 off 43 balls with six fours and three sixes. Suryakumar Yadav lit up the Wankhede as he played a masterful innings of 57 off 26 balls with seven fours and three sixes. The right hander was back to his destructive self.

In the end it came down to a superb display of bowling in the end overs by Nathan Ellis and Arshdeep Singh. The Left-armer gave away only 9 runs in the 18th over and dismissed Suryakumar. In the 20th over, he had to defend 16 and did it with ease. Arshdeep shattered the stumps twice and gave away only two runs. PBKS were victorious in a tense game.
