Arshdeep Singh was on song against Mumbai Indians in the 31st match of IPL 2023 played at the Wankhede Stadium. The left-armer picked up 4-29 in his four-over quota and helped his team earn a win against the most successful team in the league.

Arshdeep Singh, once again, stood tall while bowling the decisive overs in the game. He gave away just 9 runs off the 18th over and picked up the big wicket of Suryakymar Yadav. Then, in the 20th over, he conceded only two runs and castled both Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera in the same over, and with that, took home the Purple Cap.

In the 20th over, he shattered the stumps worth 24 Lakh INR twice. He had to defend 16 runs in the last over and PBKS ended up winning the match by 13 runs.  In the first innings, PBKS were tottering at 83-4 at one stage. Sam Curran and Harpreet Singh Bhatia then turned the match around with some superlative knocks. Bhatia scored 41 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes, while Curran made 55 off 29 balls with five fours and four sixes.

Jitesh Sharma gave PBKS the perfect finishing with 25 runs of 7 balls to help them reach 214-8

In the end, PBKS had the perfect finish from Jitesh Sharma. The right hander made a stunning 25 off 7 balls with four sixes and the team ended up scoring 214-8 in their 20 overs. PBKS got the momentum they needed in the 16th over. Curran and Bhatia hammered Arjun Tendulkar for 31 runs in his third over. The MI bowlers did not get their act right and went the distance on an absolute belter of a pitch.

In the second innings, MI batters continued the carnage. Rohit Sharma made 44 off 27 balls with four fours and three sixes. Cameron Green came in at number three and used his long levers to his advantage. The Australian made 67 off 43 balls with six fours and three sixes. Suryakumar dazzled the Wankhede with his stroke play. He smashed the PBKS bowlers and made 57 off just 26 balls with seven fours and three sixes.

Tim David made 25 off 13 balls with two sixes. But the cameo from the Australian was not enough as MI lost yet another thriller in the IPL by 13 runs. PBKS were without Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada. Yet they proved to be an able match for MI at their home ground.
