The Women’s 20-20 World Cup 2023 will be held in South Africa. The last edition of the 20-20 World Cup was held in Australia where India women reached the final but were defeated by Australia in their last hurdle.

From there, they played some T20 cricket and gained some experience of the conditions by playing a Tri-Series in South Africa where they were runners-up.

India skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur was upbeat about the 20-20 World Cup, that is being held in South Africa. The captains of the sides indulged in a photoshoot ahead of the tournament and the official handle put out a picture of the same on Twitter. Talking about the picture, Harmanpreet Kaur also put out a tweet.

“Super excited to witness this campaign once again as a leader waiting to be welcomed with a trophy back home. Jai Hind.” She wrote on Twitter.

India will be looking to do well in the tournament and bring home a World Cup trophy. They missed the opportunity in the Commonwealth Games and will be looking to do better this time.

India recently won the Women’s Under-19 20-20 World Cup in South Africa

India skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur was the top run-scorer in the tri-series, which had India, South Africa and West Indies. She scored 109 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 136.25. The India skipper will be looking to do well with the bat and take India all the way in this 20-20 World Cup.

The U-19 Women’s 20-20 World Cup was also held in South Africa where India beat England in the final of the tournament. Shafali Verma led India to a World Cup win after India beat England in the final. India bundled out England for just 68 in their 20 overs and then chased down the 69-run target in just 14 overs.

The Indian side have been a bit unlucky on not breaching the final frontier in the last edition of the 20-20 World Cup in Australia and also in the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham, where Australia beat them in the final again. The Women in Blue will look to get their hands on the silverware in this World Cup.
