‘He touched me inappropriately’ – Influencer Sapna Gill files criminal complaint against Prithvi Shaw

In the last few months Star India batter Prithvi Shaw has been in the headlines and not for any good reason. The Mumbai-based batter indulged in a physical fight with influencer Sapna Gill, last month. The video of his struggle with Sapna and her partner has surfaced on social media and left the fans split. After the video went viral, Mumbai police arrested Gill but, eventually, released her after some questioning and the issue was called off from both sides.

However, in turn of events now, the actress has lodged a criminal FIR against Shaw under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. It is being reported that Gill has asked a local magistrate court to register an FIR against Prithvi Shaw and his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav. Notably, after Gill’s request, The Andheri Magistrate Court lodged an FIR against Indian batter under sections 354, 509, and 324 of IPC.

According to the lawyer of the complaint, Sapna Gill alleged that the 23-year-old batter assaulted her with a bat in February 2023. He also mentioned that Gill has provided a medical certificate issued by a government hospital to support her allegations.

Gill also said that Shaw touched her inappropriately. Notably, Gill also filed an additional complaint against Airport Police for filing a complaint against Prithvi Shaw despite several requests.

Virender Sehwag asks Prithvi Shaw to learn from Shubman Gill  

Prithvi Shaw, who is currently running out of the national team, is participating in the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. He is currently playing for the Delhi Capitals and has failed in the first two games. Shaw, who is looking to make a comeback to the national team, needs to score runs in the ongoing tournament.

Giving him a reality check, former India batter Virender Sehwag asks Shaw to learn from his fellow players like Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad. While speaking with a media platform, Sehwag said,

“He has been dismissed playing those kinds of shots so many times… but he should also learn from his mistakes, right?,” Sehwag said. “Look at Shubman Gill, who played U-19 cricket with him and is now playing Test, ODIs, and T20Is for India, but Shaw is still struggling in IPL. He has to make the most of this IPL platform and score runs.”
