India opening batter Shubman Gill has hit the headlines yet again. This time though, it is not with the bat but for his looks. An image of the look has been doing rounds on social media. Gill is seen wearing a light pink shirt with black pant along with a black bag. A half-peeled banana is also imprinted on the shirt.
The right-hander didn’t have a good series against Australia. In the first and second ODI, he was no match for the menacing pace of Mitchell Starc. The Punjab batter was dismissed by the left-arm pacer for 20 off 31 balls with three fours after playing a rash shot in Mumbai. In Visakhapatnam, the right-handed batter was dismissed for a silver duck by the Aussie pace spearhead. He was dismissed by Zampa in the last ODI after scoring 37 off 49 balls with four fours and one six.

Meanwhile, the Indian players will now head to their respective Indian T20 League sides. The 16th season of the tournament will start on March 31 with a game between Chennai and Gujarat. Gill will play for the Ahmedabad-based side. Meanwhile, ahead of the tournament, the team director, Vikram Solanki has said that Gill has always been a leader in his own right. The former England player, Solanki added that Gill can become the future captain.
“Shubman Gill has always been a leader in his own right. He adopted a leadership role last year and yes I absolutely believe that he can be captain of the future because apart from his immense talent with the bat he has a smart cricket brain too,” Solanki told the media over a Zoom media interaction on Thursday.
