Glenn Turner was the first batter to score two hundreds in a single edition of the tournament. The former Kiwi batter scored a hundred against East Africa and India in the tournament. The former Kiwi opener was fantastic throughout the tournament. Against East Africa, Turner scored a marathon unbeaten 171*(201), which stayed as the best individual score by a batter in the World Cup for more than 8 years. Against India, Turner scored an unbeaten 114*(177) while chasing a target of 231 runs. Turner was the leading run-scorer of the tournament and set the stage on fire in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
