Dominic Drakes had been labelled as someone who had wonderful all-around skills with bat and ball from the Caribbean. He has not played a game in the Indian T20 League. Dwayne Bravo talked about him highly when he burst onto the scene.

He won two Indian T20 League trophies when he was with the Chennai franchise in 2021 and when he was with Gujarat in 2022. In 2023, none of the franchises showed any inkling of having Drakes on board. He would be banking on good performances for West Indies to get into the reckoning and get picked again by a franchise in the Indian T20 League.
