WPL 2024 Full Squads: Full Team Player List after the Auction

The much-anticipated second edition of WPL kicked off with the Mumbai auction on December 9. It will feature 165 players from franchises like Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. This pool includes 104 Indian players and 61 overseas talents.

Following Mumbai Indians’ success in the inaugural season, expectations are high for strategic team formations. Retention and release lists provide insights into the franchises’ strategies. The second season of WPL 2024 is scheduled from February 22 to March 17. The auction saw intense battles, with Delhi Capitals securing Annabel Sutherland for INR 2 crores. Mumbai Indians signed Shabnim Ismail for INR 1.20 crores.

Punjab star all-rounder Kashvee Gautam made history as she became the most expensive uncapped player. She was acquired by Gujarat for INR 2 crores. Another surprise was the exclusion of Sri Lanka veteran Chamari Athapaththu remained unsold. This is the second consecutive time she remained unsold. Deandra Dottin also went without a buyer in the auction along with Kim Garth, and Lea Tahuhu.
