Team India have been hard at work and sweating it out in a training session at the Alur Cricket Ground on the outskirts of Bangalore. The players of the national side went through the paces and went through their routines. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were seen playing a lot of shots. Jasprit Bumrah was seen bowling. The Indian side last played an ODI series against the West Indies. Their next biggest assignment is the Asia Cup.

Other important points from the practice session were as follows. Kohli was seen watching Shubman Gill’s batting very closely. Gill has often looked at Kohli as his mentor when it comes to ironing his batting flaws. Kohli has always talked about how highly he rates Gill and that he will be a long-term cricketer for India. Rohit was seen playing a lot of shots and batted for a long time. In recent interviews, the Mumbaikar talked about how he wanted to get back to his scoring ways as he did in the 2019 World Cup.

Here is the video:

KL Rahul was seen batting for a long time. He also practised the reverse sweep in the session. KL Rahul made headlines again as news came out that he will not be a part of the first two matches in the Asia Cup. This is because the Karnataka batter is carrying a niggle. India have accounted for this and named Sanju Samson as a travelling reserve. Rahul was back to high-intensity training after a long hiatus. He suffered a thigh injury and missed the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Then he went to London to have surgery. Recently there were a lot of videos and pictures of Rahul doing batting and wicketkeeping practice. The Indian side will want to do well in the Asia Cup so that they have some momentum going into the 2023 World Cup which will be held on home soil. The Men in Blue will want to recreate history like they did in 2011.
