Watch: Shakib Al Hasan barges on to the field from sidelines, has ugly confrontation with umpire in BPL

Just a few days, earlier, Shakib Al Hasan was in the centre of it all when he had a wild confrontation with the umpire in the Bangladesh Premier League and now a few days later, Shakib is in the centre of it all as he was seen having an animated conversation with the match official. This happened in match 7 of the BPL.

This happened in the second innings of the match when the Fortune Barisal openers walked out to bat. Shakib was shouting wildly from the boundary rope. He was indicating that Anamul Haque Bijoy should be on strike.

When the message was not understood, Shakib came onto the field and had a heavy confrontation with the match umpire after Anamul Haque was denied the first strike by the match official. The video was a big talking point on social media and Shakib was under the scanner for his actions.

Fortune Barisal won the match by six wickets

Shakib  has been at the centre of it all and he has not controlled his emotions well. A few days back he had expressed his interest to be the CEO of the BPL and that he will change everything in the BPL in a span of one or two months and make it more popular and engaging as a league. He said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board has failed in that aspect.

When it came to the match. The Rangpur Riders scored 158-7 in their 20 overs. Top order batter Rony Talukdar scored 40 off 28 balls while Shoaib Malik played an unbeaten knock of 54 off 36 balls in their 20 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up two wickets for Barisal. In the chase, Fortune Barisal reached the target in 19.2 overs and beat the Rangpur Riders by 6 wickets.

Afghan batter Ibrahim Zadran smashed a quick-fire 52 off 41 balls while Hasan Miraz made a vital 43 off 29 balls. In the end, finishing touches from Iftikhar Ahmed who made 25 off 18 balls with one six and Karim Janat made 21 off 14 balls with two fours and one six helped the Shakib-led side register a neat win over Rangpur Riders.
