WATCH: Rishabh Pant is doing the hard yards and is on the road to recovery

In what could be great news for India, Rishabh Pant has shown quick progress in his recovery and with current videos that are circulating on social media, it can be seen that he is sweating it out hard doing weights and training. This is wonderful progress for Pant as there were earlier videos that were circulating on social media which indicated that he was on the road to recovery and he was seen climbing up their stairs and testing his endurance.
In a report by the Times of India (TOI), it was claimed that Pant will not have to undertake another surgery for his right knee. Pant had undertaken major surgeries on his knee last year as he had met with a near-fatal car accident when he was travelling from Delhi to his hometown in Roorkee. Second knee surgery was initially needed as per some reports but, on the doctor’s observation and monitoring, it was subsequently ruled out last week. A team of medical experts who were overseeing Pant were very buoyed by the progress that he has shown.

“Let’s make it clear that Pant never had multiple surgeries as was speculated. There was much anxiety over another surgery. He was monitored every fortnight. Fortunately, his progress has been better than expected. This is a big boost for him. It could mean his comeback can happen a lot earlier than what was first expected. an Indian Cricket Board official told TOI.
“He is in good spirits,” the source added. “He can now walk considerably longer without a crutch. The focus of his rehab is now largely on strengthening. He should be in the back-to-play phase training soon.” The Indian Cricket Board official added. Pant last played a Test series against Bangladesh which happened to be a match Test series in which India won 2-0.
There were some reports indicating that Pant’s comeback could be fast-tracked ahead of the 2023 World Cup. It remains to be seen what would be Pant’s status ahead of the marquee tournament which will take place on October 5. India will host the tournament solely this time around unlike 2011.
