South Africa vs India 2nd T20I is currently underway at St George’s Park, Gqeberha. The Proteas skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and elected to field first. India openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal were out for ducks. But skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma stitched a 49-run stand for the third wicket off 24 balls. After that SKY scored 70 runs for the fourth over with Rinku Singh off only 48 balls before being dismissed for 56 off 36. Rinku ultimately reached his first T20I half-century.

India’s finish was minimised by Gerald Coetzee who picked two wickets in the final over. During the 19th over of the game skipper Markram was smacked 16 runs with Rinku hitting two back-to-back sixes. One of which was hit straight to the media box, the ball went sailing over the rope and into the media box, where it broke the glass of the box. The 26-year-old batter has been in sensational form in the shortest format of the game. The Southpaw has shown some brilliant displays of batting after making a debut for the national side.  The video of the two sixes has gone viral on social media.

The first T20I was washed out due to rain and the crowd again thought that the following one would again be abandoned. But thankfully the rain had stopped and the overs were reduced to 15 with the host having to chase a target of 152 runs. The openers of the Proteas have started explosively. Reeza Hendricks and Matthew Breetzke scored 38 runs in two overs as they are looking formidable to win the game.

Rinku Singh emerging star

Rinku Singh has been an emerging star for India. The UP-born batter has established himself as a new young sensation for the Men in Blue. The left-handed batter can play both the role of anchor and a finisher as well. He has shown that in the series against Australia at home where he played three crucial knocks in different stages of the game to win the game for India.

India is currently with a new squad with the majority of the senior players have been given rest.
