The third ODI of the series between Bangladesh and New Zealand has led to a hilarious moment. In a bizarre way, the Bangladeshi batter Mushfiqur Rahim was seen trying to stop the ball from hitting the stumps. As the ball was very close to the stumps, Rahim tried to kick it using his legs. But the process failed, and Rahim had to return to the pavilion.

It was the 16th over of the match and Lockie Ferguson was the bowler. The express pacer bowled a back-of-a-length delivery at a good pace. The 36-year-old pacer from New Zealand tried to take a single by guiding it to the third-man region. In the process, there was a lack of precision in Rahim’s shot. As a result, the ball stayed right in the crease, which was an anxious moment for the Bangladeshi middle-order batter.

Sensing the trouble, he was in, the experienced batter tried to stop it from hitting the stumps. Mushfiqur tried to kick the ball from his leg to prevent it from hitting the stumps. But the efforts of Rahim were in vain, as he could not stop his dismissal. In the process, Rahim did not just fail to kick the ball but succeeded in kicking the stumps, which led to a hilarious moment.

Rahim’s wicket leads to collapse of the Bangladesh’s innings

From 35/3 at one stage, Bangladesh was going well at one stage in the innings. After 15 overs, the score read 88/3 with a well set Shanto in the other end. Rahim just had to continue the strike rotation. But the experienced batter was struggling in the middle. The 55-run partnership for the fourth wicket could have well led to Bangladesh’s revival but was not to be.

Following the dismissal of Rahim, Bangladesh was bundled out for a total of just 171 runs. Captain Shanto was the lone warrior for Bangladesh, who scored 76 runs in 84 balls. For New Zealand, Adam Milne picked 4 wickets. Trent Boult and Cole McConchie claimed a couple of wickets each. New Zealand has a lead of 1-0 in the series currently.
