KL Rahul scored his another Test century in the ongoing first match against South Africa.

In the ongoing first Test of the two-match series between South Africa and India, KL Rahul has emerged as one of the most important batters. On Day One, the home side won the toss and asked India to bat first. They lost three wickets for 24 runs. At this stage, the likes of former skipper Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer put together 68 runs.
After their wicket fell, the team was in tatters after losing six wickets for 121 runs. With the help of bowlers, Rahul scored his second Test hundred at the SuperSport Park, Centurion. This helped the team reach a respectable total of 245 all-out. Meanwhile, during his innings, when only one wicket was left, the former India vice-captain stole a BYE run after seeing Kyle Verreynne unaware.
Talking about the game, the Proteas lost the wicket of Aiden Markram early. He opened the batting in Tests for the first time after the previous series against India at home. After this, the likes of former Test skipper Dean Elgar and Tony de Zorzi put together 93 runs for the second wicket. Keegan Peterson, India’s tormentor-in-chief last time around, managed only two runs.
At 113/3, the likes of Elgar and debutant David Bedingham have put together 70 runs and counting. The Asian side would want to break this partnership early and ensure that the home team doesn’t take much of a lead after the first innings.

Meanwhile, Rahul is playing in this game as a wicketkeeper batter. With Ishan Kishan having returned home due to mental fatigue and KS Bharat not being able to prove his metal at the highest level yet, KL has been doing the job. Bot to forget, Rishabh Pant has some to recover and become available for selection. Rahul has kept wickets in limited-overs cricket.
