WATCH- Jasprit Bumrah handles umpiring duties as Virat Kohli bowls in the nets

India are currently locking horns with Sri Lanka at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma lost the toss following which India were put into bat by Kusal Mendis. India lost an early wicket in the form of Sharma but the duo of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have reconsolidated the innings terrifically, putting on a stand of more than 150. The platform for a big score has been laid and Indian fans will hope that the rest of the batters make it count.

The tournament as a whole has been extremely successful for Rohit Sharma and Co. as they are the only unbeaten side out of all the ten participating teams. With the bat, the charge has been led by seniors Rohit, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who have all made invaluable contributions at different stages of the quadrennial event.

As far as bowling is concerned, all the bowlers barring Mohammed Siraj have been right on the money and they are the reason why India has earned the tag of favourites.

Team India’s team environment has been the epitome of this season

Another reason that many have cited as one of the reasons behind India’s superb run in the World Cup is the team environment. Videos that have emerged on social media have shown that there is great camaraderie and brotherhood in the Indian dressing room and that helps the cause.

One such instance involving Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah caught the public eye today. In the training session ahead of the game, Kohli was rolling his arm over with Bumrah managing umpire duties. One particular moment which had fans in splits was when Bumrah called out of the deliveries a wide. The reaction from Kohli suggested that he was not too pleased with the decision but fans surely loved the moment.
