Cricketers proposing to girlfriends is not a new story. One such instance occurred when India’s Deepak Chahar proposed to his girlfriend in the 2021 edition of the Indian T20 League.

As for the match, chasing the total of 193, the 26-year-old batter came in at No.4 after the departure of skipper Nizakat Khan. The southpaw found it tough to rotate strike at the start of the innings. He used sweep shots to counter the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal. He batted with ease against the pacers until his innings of 30 off 28 balls was ended by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Shah would look to produce better performance in the next game. Hong Kong could manage 152 runs at the end of 20 overs. Babar Hayat was the top scorer for the team, with 41 off 35 balls.

Earlier, India posted the daunting total courtesy of the unbeaten half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. Kohli played a classy knock of 59 runs off 44 deliveries, whereas Suryakumar set the ground on fire with his majestic 68 runs off just 26 deliveries. The Men in Blue won the match by 40 runs and with the victory become the second team to qualify for the Super Fours. India’s 360-degree batter was adjudged the Player of the Match for his sensational innings.

Hong Kong and Pakistan will clash on September 2 in what will be a virtual knockout game. The Hong Kong side has shown that they can compete against the big side and would look to create an upset when they take the field on Friday.
