Afghanistan will take on Bangladesh in Match 3 of the Asia Cup 2022 in Sharjah on August 30, Tuesday. Afghanistan crushed Sri Lanka by eight wickets with 59 balls to spare in their first match. Courtesy of which, they have an outstanding net run rate of 5.176. Another win will make them the first team to qualify for the next round.
On the other hand, Bangladesh is coming into the T20 tournament with series defeats at the hands of Zimbabwe and the West Indies. They have some questions to answer as far as their T20 approach is concerned. The Shakib-led side needs to put on their best foot forward if they need to challenge the in-form Afghanistan.
Bangladesh will have some headaches as far as team composition goes. It will be interesting where veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim fits in the batting order. The openers have not done justice to their role off-late and they need to give their team a good start. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan will be key to the team’s chances when they face Mohammed Nabi’s side.
Predicted Playing XI: Mohammad Naim, Anamul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Afif Hossain, Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
Afghanistan has ticked all the boxes in their last game and would look to continue on their winning momentum. There are no reasons to tinker with the winning XI and shall stick with the same team.
Predicted Playing XI: Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran, Karim Janat, Mohammad Nabi (c), Rashid Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi
