In the third Test in Newlands, the trio of Cameron Bancroft, Vice-captain David Warner, and captain Steve Smith were caught for the execution of the usage of sandpaper in the match, which was counted as a case of ball tampering. The accusations turned true as the cricketers accepted their mistakes.  

The news of the sandpaper gate shook the cricket world, as the fans could not digest the fact that great players like Steve Smith and David Warner were involved in the unfortunate incident.
