‘Phir se WTC final haarte hue dekhna hoga’ – Fans react as India enters top spot of WTC table of third cycle after huge win at Cape Town

India entered the top spot of the World Test Championship table of the third cycle after a huge win at Cape Town. Against a good side like South Africa, India put up a very good performance in the second Test and claimed a brilliant Test win. A collective effort from the Indian team ensured that they beat SA to enter the top of the WTC table.

On a seaming wicket at Cape Town, India managed to register a 7-wicket win. The bowlers were the chief architects in the Indian win, as they dismissed SA for just 55 runs in the first innings and for 163 runs in the second innings. Barring Aiden Markram, no other batter was able to put up a fight. It was a convincing win for the Indian team in the end.

Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah were the pick of the bowlers for India who claimed a 6-wicket haul with the ball in the first and second innings of the match respectively. The efforts of the pacers helped India to become the first Asian team to win a test match at Cape Town. With the win, India has climbed to the first spot in the WTC table of cycle 3.

India currently has a PCT of 54.16% which has enabled them to return to the top. at the second position are the South Africans with a PCT of 50.00%. To follow them are New Zealand, Bangladesh and Australia who have 50.00% of PCT each. These five teams are head and shoulders above the rest of the four teams in the WTC table of cycle 3.

Pakistan has a PCT of 45.83% at the moment and they are placed currently at the 6th position. The likes of West Indies, England, and Sri Lanka are under the radar in the points table with a PCT of 16.67%, 15.00%, and 0.00% respectively. Sri Lanka is the only team to have not won a Test match in the ongoing cycle. They would love to change it in the upcoming series.
