The Indian feature film ‘RRR’ has created a storm on social media as the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ bagged the Oscar under the original song category. The song was penned down by Chandrabose and sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

Wishes poured in from all over the country as people celebrated the historic feat. It won the Best Original Song award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards in January.

A lot of congratulatory posts poured in from the cricket community. Former Australian cricketer, Mathew Hayden also celebrated the milestone by grooving to the song. He danced to the number at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad. India drew the fourth Test there against Australia. Hayden was part of the commentary panel for the series on Star Sports.

“Thank you Academy, I grew up listening to the carpenters and now here I am with the Oscar.”

The music composer then broke into a song, “

There was only one wish in my mind, so was Rajamouli’s and my family’s. RRR has to win, pride of every Indian and must put me on the top of the world. Thank you Kartikeya and Variance Films for making this possible.” Keervani said.

On the same day, India drew the fourth Test at Ahmedabad and, thus, the Indian Test team retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth time against the Kangaroos. With that, India have also qualified for the Test Championship final for the second time in a row.

England will host the final at the Oval and it will take place between 7-11 June between India and Australia. March 13 was a great day for Indian cricket fans and the film industry as well. RRR will remain the first Indian film to win an Oscar.
