Virat Kohli has made a name for himself in the echelons of Indian cricket with his exploits with the bat. He has revolutionised Indian Cricket when it comes to fitness and has also made the Indian Test team into world beaters during his time as the captain, especially using fast bowlers as weapons to win Test matches abroad as well as in India.

While Kohli is known for his aggressive brand of cricket and for wearing his heart on his sleeve, he is also known for maintaining camaraderie with his teammates and opposition alike. Ahead of the third ODI against Sri Lanka allrounder Chamika Karunaratne showered high praise on the former India captain. “People say it’s arrogance, they say it’s for the cameras, some say it’s for the show. The legend says he sees HUNGER. He says as long as there is hunger to be the best. You will WIN,” wrote Karunaratne on Instagram with a picture of him with Kohli.

Could Kohli replicate his heroics of Guwahati in the 3rd ODI?

The right-handed batter has been in good form so far in the series as he scored 113 off 87 balls with 12 fours and one six. This was his 45th ODI century. He also scored nine hundreds against Sri Lanka with that knock which was also the most number of centuries scored against any opposition. With that ton, he brought up the most hundreds by a player in a country. He now has scored 20 centuries in India.

Kohli was bowled by a beautiful ball from Lahiru Kumara and was dismissed cheaply in the second ODI at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He will look to get back into form to help India whitewash the Men from the Emerald Isle 3-0 and end the tour on a high. Kohli was not a part of the T20I side against Sri Lanka which was led by Hardik Pandya.

India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead ahead of the Third ODI which will be played at Thiruvananthapuram. India scored 373-7 in the first ODI and then kept Sri Lanka down to 306-8 in their 50 overs. In the second ODI, the bowlers stepped up and bundled out the Islanders for just 215 in 49.4 overs. Sri Lanka made India work hard but India made their way to 219-6 in 43.2 overs.
