Shubman Gill has shown fine form in the Ahmedabad Test on Day 3. The man from Punjab gave India a great start with the bat. He was in his zone as he played some cracking shots. The right-handed batter has looked calm and composed at the crease. Gill was in the zone and dominated Mitchell Starc from the word go.  The 23-year-old has scored 120 runs against the Australia pace spearhead.

He has hit him for 15 fours and two sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 100. Gill was unbeaten on 18 off 27 balls at the end of Day 2. From there, he forged a good partnership with Rohit Sharma, who scored 35 off 58 balls with three fours and one six.

The Punjab- born batter converted his start into what was his second Test century and scored 128 off 235 balls with 12 fours and one six. This was his first ton on home soil. Gill, recently, scored his maiden Test century against Bangladesh.

Australia scored 480 in the first innings at Ahmedabad against India on Day 2 of the fourth Test

Australia owned the first two days at Ahmedabad. Usman Khawaja scored his 14 Test hundred for the Kangaroos and went on to play a stellar knock of 180 off 422 balls, including 21 fours. Khawaja was provided valuable support by Cameron Green. The Australian all-rounder scored his maiden Test century against India.

Green made 114 off 170 balls with 18 fours. This innings from the all-rounder in the middle order sent the Indians on a leather hunt. On Day 2, when Australia had lost eight wickets for 409 runs, it seemed that India would take the last two wickets quickly but, that was not to be. Todd Muphy scored 41 off 61 balls with five fours and Nathan Lyon scored 34 off 96 balls.

Lyon hit six fours in his innings which helped Australia to get to 480 in the first innings at Ahmedabad. India have already retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by taking a 2-1 lead with comprehensive wins at Nagpur and Delhi by an innings and 132 runs and by 6 wickets respectively.
