Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik are now official divorced, confirms Malik’s management team member

In what has come as a massive development, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Akhtar have parted ways but are yet to make a public announcement about the same. The duo hasn’t been on good terms for quite some time now and are currently co-parenting their son Izhaan Mirza Malik.
Previously, it was learnt that Pakistan cricketer, Shoaib Malik had cheated on Mirza, which led to the latter deciding to break all ties with her husband. Malik, reportedly, cheated on the Indian Tennis star with Ayesha Omar, who is a popular Pakistan actress.
Malik met Ayesha during a photoshoot for OK! magazine in 2021. The couple, thus, had been living separately for quite some time now. Recently, a member of Malik’s management team told Inside Sport that their split was official, however, as they have several contracts signed with different shows, a news on their divorce could lead to legal complications.
It is worth mentioning that Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza tied the knots in 2010 and it had taken the sub-continent by storm. Despite that, the duo faced all the criticism bravely and were looked a power couple. In 2018, they were blessed with their son Izhaan Mirza Malik.
At the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik were living in two different countries. Mirza was taking care of her son in India, while Malik was living in Pakistan with her mother. During an interview with Indian Express, Sania Mirza talked about how difficult it was for her and her son to live away from Malik.
“I am really looking forward to being back as a family again and being at the same place. It’s really not been easy staying away from my husband and for Izhaan to stay away from his father. No amount of virtual video calls can do justice to actually meeting in person.”
Recently, Sania Mirza took to Instagram to share a cryptic post, which suggested separation between the couple.
“The moments that get me through the hardest days.” Mirza wrote.
