In a recent interview with Dinesh Karthik, Rohit praised role model Virat for his enthusiasm, hunger, and unrivalled love of the sport. For the first two Test matches, Virat Kohli is currently out of play owing to personal circumstances, and there is no word on his comeback to the Indian team.

He has not informed the Indian Cricket Board of his availability for the last three Test matches against England.

Virat Kohli is passionate about the game and always there with the team: Rohit Sharma

Rohit feels he is lucky to watch Virat closely. “I feel lucky to watch Virat Kohli from a close range. He is passionate about the game and is always there with the team. People are unaware about what he does off the field to keep going. Virat is dedicated and his hunger grows with every series,” Rohit Sharma told Dinesh Karthik on JioCinema.

India’s captain Rohit Shamra also commended Virat for his fitness. “He has never visited the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for fitness-related matters, let alone cricket development programmes. He is free to rest and relax if he so desires. But this is not the case with him. “We can all learn a lot from him,” Rohit Sharma remarked.
