Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers in the circuit. It is well known about Kohli and his obsession with fitness. The former India captain has advocated in interviews that having a fit body helped him develop higher endurance levels and higher intensity in matches. Kohli said that he was able to run even more quickly between the wickets and also be in a level of higher performance that will help his team win more games.
Kohli recently posted pictures of him working out in the gym which went viral on social media. “Everyday should be a leg day. 8 years and counting,” Kohli tweeted. There were a lot of reactions to his post on social media and the fans went ga ga over him when he put out the pictures. The Men in Blue are in the West Indies and have also taken part in the warm-up games. The games for the tour will be held in West Indies and also in the USA.
When Kohli burst onto the international scene, he was a chubby bloke and used to eat his favourite food. But after he came to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) he realised the importance of a good fitness regimen and put himself on a strict diet which made him the man that he is today. Kohli has said time and again that his fitness has been directly proportional to him giving better performances, scoring big runs and his energy and passion helped the other team members to perform better.
India will play 2 Tests against the West Indies to start off. He would want to score some runs after his poor showing in the World Test Championship final (WTC). After the Tests, the Men in Blue will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. For the T20Is, Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not a part of the squad. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have earned call-ups to the Indian Test and T20I sides. Ajinkya Rahane will be vice-captain for the Test series against West Indies.
