Watch: Rohit Sharma hilariously imitates Indian Cricket Team players’ celebration

During the recently held Indian Cricket Board awards, a video of the Indian cricket team’s captain Rohit Sharma went viral on social media. Many former Indian cricketers were awarded in various categories during the award function. In that video, it seems like Rohit is imitating Virat Kohli’s celebration which he does on the cricket field.

In a widely viral video from the event, Rohit Sharma is seen jokingly copying his teammates and imitating some of their well-known actions, which has gained popularity online. Rohit Sharma started with his own pull shot, attempting to emulate Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action and Suryakumar Yadav’s supla shot.

Furthermore, the Indian captain successfully copied MS Dhoni’s legendary helicopter shot, took a bow similar to Shubman Gill, and finished his show with his portrayal of Sachin Tendulkar’s uppercut.

Rohit is currently playing in the Indian team in their first Test against England in Hyderabad. After losing the toss, India chose to bowl, limiting England to 246 in 64.3 overs, with spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja taking three wickets each. Axar Patel and Bumrah combined for the remaining four wickets.

In response, India finished Day 2 with 421-7, with a significant first-innings advantage of 175 runs. At the end of Day 2, Jadeja was unbeaten on 81 from 155 deliveries, while Axar made 35 runs from 62 balls. Srikar Bharat made 41 runs, while Shreyas Iyer scored 35 earlier in the innings.

Rohit has optimism that India will break their major trophy drought

Before the Hyderabad Test, Captain Rohit admitted the enormous disappointment of not winning a major tournament in the previous decade. However, he emphasised that the team was putting up maximum effort and expressed optimism that their time of success would arrive.

“The last three years have been great. Except for winning the finals of major trophies, we have won everything. That’s one thing we’ve not been able to accomplish, but I think time will come.”

“All we need to do is stay in a good mindset, not worry too much about the past, because you can’t change the past,” he told JioCinema.

India last won a major trophy was in 2013 it came as a Champions Trophy win where India overcame against England under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
