The squad for the upcoming T20I series between India and New Zealand were announced on January 13, Friday. The senior players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, continue to be overlooked in the T20I squad. Hardik Pandya remains the captain in the T20I format. Sanju Samson is still out of the squad after he picked up an injury in the Sri Lanka series.
Jitesh Sharma will remain part of the squad as the backup keeping option. Harshal Patel has been left out. Kl Rahul and Axar Patel are not part of the New Zealand series due to family commitments. Harshal Patel has been left out of the T20I squad.
Kuldeep Yadav has also been included in the T20I squad. Mukesh Kumar has also been drafted in. When it comes to the ODI squad, KS Bharat and Shahbaz Ahmed make the cut and come in for Rahul and Axar. Shardul Thakur comes into the ODIs against New Zealand after missing out in the Sri Lanka series. He has replaced Arshdeep Singh. Jasprit Bumrah who was earlier named in the ODI squad against Sri Lanka has been ruled out due to a back injury. Backing Rahul Tripathi to be the next big thing in T20 for India. He certainly has the skill. It's up to him to show some temperament and be brave as luck favours the brave. #INDvsNZ https://t.co/HzIarlQEhn

Bumrah shouldn’t be available for IPL as well… coz this is World Cup year, and we need him in World Cup Squad #INDvsAUS #INDvsNZ #IPL https://t.co/4ohMzV730P

Once again @Ruutu1331 has been selected in T20Is against Kiwis. At least can we have him this time in the Playing XI ?? #INDvsNZ #BCCI if he's unable to make it to playing XI it's better not to select him for any series and let him play domestic series 🙂

Strongly agree that Ranji must be always 1st criteria to select any player in test squad,Sky is so good in limited over but can't agree with his selection in Test cricket over Ruturaj/sarfaraz/prithvi/Rahane/Priyank like players who r continue performing so good.#BCCI #INDvsNZ
