India notched up their first gold-medal of Asian games 2023 with a world -record score in the ten meter air rifle team event.

The Indian contingent has given the nation very good news early on Monday morning. DS Panwar, RB Patil, and APS Tomar won India its first gold medal of the event. The Indian trio won the gold medal in the 10-meter Air Rifle event which was held on Monday.
Asian Games 2023 began well for India with a haul of silver and bronze medals on Sunday. The Indian contingent though couldn’t win the Gold Medal which had eluded them. China had taken an early lead as far as the gold medals were concerned.
Monday was looked at with expectation with the number of Indian athletes in contention. There is also hope for another gold medal with the Indian women’s cricket team. Smriti Mandhana and her team will take on Sri Lanka in the gold medal match.

India makes history on the way to winning its first gold medal
Asian Games2023 saw India win their first gold medal. The Indian trio of DS Panwar, RB Patil, and APS Tomar got the gold in the Air Rifle Event. The Indian team shot a cumulative score of 1893.7 which is a world record. Once the final shot was fired the Indian delegation was joyous. It had confirmed India’s place at the top of the podium in the event. The Indian shooters were filled with joy as they congratulated each other for the massive achievement.
APS Tomar won his 2nd medal for the day in a 10-meter air rifle individual event. Tomar won the bronze medal while RB Patil came fourth. Tomar was in contention for a silver but a failed shot cost him the medal.
The action now moves to the cricket event which pits Indiaand Sri Lanka in the finals. The Indian team had beaten Bangladesh in the Semi-finals. Sri Lanka had made the finals after beating Pakistan in the other semi-finals. Bangladesh had taken the Bronze Medal after beating Pakistan by 5 wickets in the 3rd place game. The Indian contingent is going to have a busy Monday during the Asian Games 2023. Rowing, Table Tennis, Tennis, Basketball, Chess, Rugby Sevens, Swimming, Judo, and many more will see Indian athletes give their best to win a medal.
