ODI World Cup 2023: Weather update from Delhi ahead of India vs Afghanistan clash

The ODI World Cup 2023 has brought back the flavor of ODIs. The last tournament that got hyped like this was the 2019 ODI World Cup, which was again the World Cup. The fans are highly excited for the tournament, and it only grows when India plays a team. In Delhi, India will be taking on Afghanistan in their second match of the tournament.
The weather for the match is absolutely fine. There are no signs of rain in the match. The temperature will be ranging from 35 degrees centigrade to 32 degrees centigrade in the daytime. The players might feel the heat in Delhi playing in the period, particularly the bowling side. But the temperature will gradually decrease during the nighttime, where it will hover around 26 to 22 degrees centigrade.

In the past, Delhi was a slow wicket with dry surface. Before the recent past, about last 4-5 years ago, Delhi had grip, turn, and bounce for the spinners. It was not the easiest of wickets to bat on. But in the recent times, most importantly in the ongoing ODI World Cup, Delhi seems to be a good batting surface. In the game between South Africa and Sri Lanka, more than 750 runs were scored.
South Africa registered the highest score in the ODI World Cup. Replying to it, Sri Lanka scored more than 320 runs even after losing a couple of early wickets. These are good signs for the batters, but not so good signs for bowlers, who not just have to be wary of the pitch, but also of the short boundaries. Batters are likely to rule roost in the venue, particularly in the early stage of the tournament.
