The incident happens when he came to bat with cap but fast bowler Sumit Narwal was going to ball the over as soon as he realized, he called for helmet. Due to this delayed happened and Gautam Gambhir who was standing in first slip sledge him.

“The fight I had with Gambhir that day is the only regret I have because people who know me will tell you that I am not that sort of a person who goes out there and quarrels with seniors. It is one of those memories that I could have avoided. I have a good relationship with my seniors, but due to one incident, it spoilt my image,” Tiwary told Sports Now.

Gambhir threatened me to meeting outside the stadium – Manoj Tiwary

“That is why I stated it was my greatest regret since we were so close at one point in life. While playing for KKR, we used to have a lot of debates and brainstorm about who to pick in Kolkata. We had such a close friendship that we used to discuss specifics and inputs. But things did not turn out as they should have,” he remarked.

Manoj Tiwary stated that Gambhir threatened him with a meeting outside the stadium, calling the former KKR captain’s remarks “immature”.

Yeah (laughs), and it was really immature of him to say that. In Kotla, the journalist’s tent is inside the ground, and everyone hears everything that happens inside. But with my physical attributes and his physical attributes, kise pata kaun shaam ko milta (Who knows who would have met whom),” Tiwary added.
