The Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings played in yet another jaw-dropping game in the Indian Premier League 2023, with a result ensured on the penultimate ball in the 20th over. Rahul Tewatia finished the game for GT. The IPL has suddenly taken a huge turn as the last five games have yielded finishes in the last over. The League keeps on giving.

In the GT vs PBKS clash, there was a memorable moment or a reunion of sorts as Preity Zinta the PBKS owner and Mohammed Shami had a lighthearted moment on the field in Mohali. Shami had earlier played for PBKS. The two were seen bonding over a joke, and the duo had a good laugh. The Indian pacer picked up 58 wickets for PBKS in a three-year span. He had a strike rate of 16.5. The then-PBKS fast bowler had an average of 22.82.

Mohit Sharma picked up 2-18 in his four over for GT against PBKS

Shami did not have the best of outings against his former side as he went for big runs in his four overs. He conceded 44 runs in his four overs and picked up just the lone wicket, which did not make good reading. One man, who did have a good outing, though, was Mohit Sharma in GT colours. He was making a comeback after two seasons. The right-arm pacer had last played in an IPL game in 2020.

He had subtle variations in pace and he showed what he was capable of against his former side. Mohit picked up 2-14 in his four overs. It was a memorable comeback for him. The fast bowler showed that he has got wiser and used all his experience. Credit must be given to Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki for giving him a chance in the starting XI. He was a part of the net bowlers for the GT franchise last year.

The game went into the last over. Shubman Gill was dismissed by Sam Curran. There were very few runs in the bank to defend in the last over, but Curran almost did the impossible. However, Tewatia stood in his way and finished the game for GT by hitting the winning boundary.
