India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has stated that Ravichandran Ashwin may be back with the India team on Day 4 and Day 5 in the ongoing third Test match against England in Rajkot.

On Day 2 of the Test match against England, Ravichandran Ashwin took 500 wickets in Test cricket. He becomes the 2nd Indian spinner to achieve this landmark. As the Day ended, Aswhin flew back home due to a medical emergency. Vice-president of the Indian Cricket Board Rajeev Shukla posted a message on X stating that Ashwin had to leave the third Test midway because of his illness of mother.

“The Indian Cricket Board is pleased to announce the return of R Ashwin to the squad after a brief absence due to a family emergency,” the Indian Cricket Board said in a statement.

“Both R Ashwin and the team management are pleased to confirm that he will be back in action on Day 4 and will continue to contribute towards the team’s cause in the ongoing Test match. Ashwin and his family kindly request privacy as they navigate through these challenging times.”

Kuldeep Yadav gave some good news to the Indian fans.

When Kuldeep Yadav questioned how India is going to cope with the void left by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has retired hurt with back spasms after scoring his hundred and Ravichandran Ashwin left home, Kuldeep Yadav gave some good news to the Indian fans.

“I think… I am not sure… but I think Ash bhai (Ashwin) is someone who is coming back, I guess,” Kuldeep said while confirming that Yashasvi Jaiswal also was feeling much better on Sunday morning and would bat if required in the second innings.

On Day four, India started from a score of 196 for two as Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav walked out to bat. Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 104 runs before getting retired out. Towards the Day of 3, Rajat Patidar was gone for a duck.
